This is my new fuse block all fixed up and looking nice. Much better. Connections are solid now and it should last or quite a while.

I replaced the front wheel bearings and seals today. I was getting a strange growl sound when turning. I removed the wheel and the bearing felt rough. Better safe than sorry as they say. I then had to test them so Joey and I took a 60 mile test ride. Perfect weather for riding!

I started the bike and noticed that the dash was dead. I checked the fuses and they all tested good but I was not getting any power to the dash. I tore apart the fairing to track down the problem but everything looked fine. I went back to the fuses and found the problem. The fuse block is shot. There is a lot of corrosion on the connectors so I grabbed a small wire brush to clean them up. As soon as I touch it the clips actually broke. Fortunately this is a common issue and there are very good replacement blocks available that use atc fuses instead of these old glass ones. Just another item on my todo list.

I got the wheel back on Friday and out the bike back together. Rode it up to the shop on Saturday morning and got the inspection done. It passed and while there I got a lot of compliments on the bike. I talked to a lot of people while I was there. Suzuki was throwing an event this weekend and they tried so hard to get me to test ride one of the new bikes. As much as I wanted to I refrained because I am still excited about my new scoot and did not want to ruin the feeling by riding a brand new, super tight bike.
Anyway, after that I headed up to Joey’s baseball practice. As soon as that was done the coach treated the team to slushies over at Sonic. We hung out for a while and talked about current events while the kids ate or drank or whatever you do to a slushie!
I finally told Joey it was time to go so we went for haircuts and then we took the long way home. The VERY LOOOONG way home. Sports clips is 2 miles from my house but it took us 1 1/2 hours to get home. We rode some nice back roads, just twisty enough to be fun and it was throug the trees. Very nice ride.
No riding on Sunday because I took the family to Jamestown to see some historic sites. Since I don’t have a sidecar this trip required a car!

When I purchased this bike he threw in a rear tire. You have to tear down the entire right side of the bike to get the wheel off. The rear brake pads are a little thin so I am going to replace them as well. Almost there!

So I was on another little test ride and I noticed a strange growl coming from the front when I go around any corner, even very slight ones. I took the front wheel off and noticed that the front bearings feel alittle rough. I will be changing these out next weekend. At least it gave me the chance to detail the front end. I love Simple Green and an old tooth brush

So I just had a reply to one of my posts on The Venturers that I thought was cool. The pinstripe and artwork on my bike was done by an apparently well known artist named Scarcrow and one of the members recognized it. We knew it was done by him because he signs his work with a little scarecrow. Hopefully I will get a chance to meet him at one of the ride ins that I am sure I will be a part of.
